41st Annual Concert: Onward

Each year, The Wooden Floor selects hard-working eligible students to co-create masterful modern-dance pieces with renowned choreographers from all over the world.

This three-day event set at the Irvine Barclay Theater places The Wooden Floor among top performers in the modern-dance scene. The work is created by renowned choreographers, lighting and costumer designers for the big stage, featuring The Wooden Floor students.

We start with a brochure, announcing the title.

Each year, the Annual Concert has a different title, signifying a new theme that encapsulates the message of the three different pieces. The Wooden Floor announces the title through a concert-centered brochure that reveals the title as well as the resident choreographers.

Invitations

A month before the event, a special Opening Night invitation is sent to supporters and patrons.

Additional concert-related collateral, such as Arts Night Out, posters, social media assets, sponsor banners, is prepared.

The Event

When there’s one great thing, there’s usually another. What’s your second thing to showcase?

  • Logo, patterns, and unique identity

Outside of the defined Annual Concert logo, the team prepares a unique design elements and color palette for the title of each year.

  • Program that serves as a report

The biggest push for this event is the 40+ page concert program, which provides details about the pieces, spotlights two dancers, an alumni, as well as provides report on donations and supporters. The visual theme for the current year, including year-specific visual assets, the color palette, and fonts are used to achieve visual consistency.

  • Merchandise

Unique merchandise, including a commemorative t-shirt and DVD of the performance are prepared for sale at the event.
